The wait is finally over for hearing Damarukam sound. Yes, bringing a sigh of relief on everyone's face especially among fans of Nagarjuna, Damarukam hit theatres across the globe today. Starring Nagarjuna and Anushka in the lead roles, Damarukam is definitely not amongst the league of those pictures that bug you with melodrama and a series of routine fights. A complete socio-fantasy film with mythological subject, Damarukam undoubtedly leaves you spell bound as you watch a series of graphic visuals especially in the last twenty minutes. Story

The story revolves around Mallikarjuna (Nagarjuna) and how he meets Maheshwari (Anushka) who will be haunted by a demon called Andakasurudu (who wakes up from deep sleep after thousands of years). Andakasurudu wants to marry Anushka in order to capture all the universal mystic powers. How Nagarjuna will eliminate Andakasurudu and save Anushka forms the remaining part of the story.

Analysis :

Srinivas Reddy did an amazing job as a director. Each and every scene and character's entry was plotted very well. Screenplay literally drives you into picture. The director definitely thought out of the box and was reflected on big screen. Cinematography by Chota K Naidu was outstanding. Devi Sri Prasad did his job perfectly as each and every song made audience whistle and enjoy thoroughly. While Sakkubai Garam Chai appealed the mass audience, some songs such as Shiva Shiva Shankara, Bhoonabhontaalake songs brought goose bumps. There were also melodious songs such as Nesthama and Lali Lani, which were soothing. The background score was also too good.

Performance :

Nagarjuna gave his best. He even looked good on screen with six pack body and all. Anushka too improved a lot and gave tough competition to Nagarjuna. She, however, couldn't give her best in dance numbers. Needless to mention Prakash Raj's acting.

The much awaited film of Nagarjuna, Damarukam got postponed yet another time. This happens to the be the third time wherein people who booked their tickets online would get the presumably  refund. Film critics said that people would slowly lose interest in straight Telugu films if movies are postponed time and again like this. It may be noted that Damarukam movie was first scheduled for a release on October 20 initially then it got postponed to November 9. After that the movie was again postponed to November 10 and now on November, the movie is not out.

In fact, all the three times, various multiplexes gave tickets for Damarukam and three times the tickets got cancelled. The people who are disgusted with such postponements are taking heavily on the entire Damarukam crew and distributors on social networking websites. When asked some of the film critics, they told Andhra Wishesh that Telugu film industry should stop refraining themselves from interfering into such postponements. They said it's high time the film industry should intervene and solve the issue failing which the name and fame of Telugu Cinema might go for a toss at the international level.

Damarukam release:

The much awaited Damarukam movie was finally scheduled to hit screens today after so many postpones and refunds of movie tickets. But the sources said that the morning show at the multiplexes still didn't screen Damarukam movie (09:30 am). Well, it looks like the movie got postponed yet another time. What about those purchased tickets? Guys, if you have purchased tickets through phone or online, it's advisable to get in touch with respective theatres for a refund. The next date of release is yet to be announced.

The much awaited film of the year, Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu has finally hit the theatres. Power star's splendid performance made the film a super success at the box office on day one. Right from screenplay to performances, everything is just worth loud applause. This movie cannot be compared to Gabbar Singh movie since this is message oriented movie. Story

The central theme of the movie revolves around injustice in the society and how a common man takes on it. Pawan Kalyan (Rambabu) would be introduced as a mechanic, who takes on social issues. Once he happens to lash out at some politicians, which attracts the media. Tamannah, who will be present over there, will be impressed with the ideologies of Pawan Kalyan and recommends him for a post of a reporter. That's how Rambabu becomes a journalist.

Nassar plays the role of chief minister while Prakash Raj (a cunning son of a politician Kota Srinivasa Rao), who will be an opposition leader. How Pawan Kalyan highlights the corruption of Prakash Raj and how he gathers the support of youth forms the remaining part of the movie.

Analysis :

Pawan Kalyan's performance is extra ordinary. There are some powerful dialogues in this movie, which evoked solid response. People whistled and wooed when they heard some dialogues such as 'naku tikkaleste cheema aina okate CM aina okate,' 'media nee umpudugathe kadu unchokodaniki..' Also, there would be a sattire. Songs are okay. The choreography was good and so was the cinematography by Shyam K Naidu. The first song was Jaramochindi followed by extra-ordinary song. The fourth song is Melikalu wherein Pawan Kalyan where emphasis would be on Pawan Kalyan's movie. The climax is the main asset of the movie. Pawan Kalyan walks with youngsters in the state to take on the corruption and injustice (while the Thaladinchuku song runs in the background). Guys, this scene looked superb as the youths who walked with Pawan Kalyan were his real fans.

Fights are also good in this movie. There would be a hijra style fight as rowdies would be draped in sarees. This fight was quite rib tickling and audience enjoyed it to the core.

While Pawan Kalyan's Gabbar Singh movie is a pakka mass entertainer (maaanchi oopunna cinema), Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu is a message oriented film. However, one would definitely love the movie for many things—right from Pawan Kalyan's acting to screenplay and direction by Puri Jagannadh. The director, who earlier faced disappointment at box office with Devudu Chesina Manushulu has finally proved himself with Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu. The characters suited well to the actors. The director earlier said that the character of Rambabu was close to Pawan Kalyan's real character. So, don't miss this movie folks.

Performance :

Pawan Kalyan lived beyond expectations and dragged audience into the scene with his marvelous acting. After coming out from theatre, you would feel like there was some close resemblance between Pawan Kalyan and Rambabu. He performed that well. Tamannah, on the other hand, was just okay. Prakash Raj's performance is worth a thumbs up. Tanikella Bharani too did well. Others such as Dharmavarapu Subramanyam, Brahmanandam, Ali and Kota Srinivasa Rao were okay.

 Ram Gopal Varma is an eccentric director and he has confirmed it again. The nerve racking suspense he build by changing the positions of the tables and chairs is unbearable (literally). Playing on a swing, wow that's too scary and a ghost that undoes the covers on the pillows and bed; please don't scare the crap out of me RGV. Boochi 3D Review If you have not yet understood, this introduction to the ghost story, at least intended to be one, is sarcasm.

Story

Tarun (J. D. Chakravarthy) has a new home where he moves into along with his wife, daughter, Manisha Koirala and Alayana Sharma respectively and son. RGV tries to force suspense into a dumb story as Tarun's sister joins them at their new house. Extremely skeptical about the new house at dirt cheap prices, Tarun's wife doesn't feel well in her gut with their new acquisition. And like every other movie which claims to be a horror, the signs of ghosts appear right after. Tarun however, like most protagonists of the horror movies, throws a deaf ear to the issue initially.

Tarun's daughter has an imaginary friend at this point of the movie. Yes, we are still talking about Boochi but it might look like Vaasthu Shastra returns at this point. Her imaginations are dismissed earlier but the girl turns violent and also warns people that she would harm them. This alerts the parents. Tarun is suspicious that the servant has been causing the weird sound they hear at night but the servant refuses the blame. He says that it could be the supernatural powers' doing and requests his owners to get a “pooja hawan” to dispel the evil in the house. And poof! The servant disappears. Poof again! Now it is their daughter's turn.

The girl finds a creepy rag doll behind most of RGV's older renderings of horror movies.

Analysis :

First off I want to talk something good about this movie, only since it is very little. The scene where the police interrogates the family was interesting with a few funny dialogues. Hats off to Ravi Shankar for the script. Either he must be living in the caves or he must be a fool to think people would be living under caves for thinking that the people would be scared or even excited with such a storyline and the cinematography. First off, the story is a mish-mash of Ramu Kaka's own Vaastu Shastra and the hit Hollywood Paranormal Activity. And a personal not to RGV, people are no longer scared of the creepy dolls, sir. That was like a decade ago.

Ghost or poltergeist? We ought to be scared and not laugh when the ghost is shown on the screen and not laugh. Totally disappointing for any person who has seen a couple of horror movies, mildly amusing to a person who has never watched one. However, if you have never watched a horror movie, I recommend you to watch something better and not this one for your idea of a horror movie would would be marred unjustly.

Creaky swings that move on their own, sheets and covers being pulled away are too old to scare anyone. Poor 3D rendering in the most unnecessary of the places further made the film a weaker choice for the weekend.

RGV's direction: We need a special column for this don't we? To critique, definitely. RGV definitely thinks too much of his abilities apparently. Placing your camera at absurd and unusual angles may provide different perspectives but if they are annoying and needlessly included the audience would definitely not wait to walk away from the theater. RGV had released a few good films but this would never come close to that list of very few good movies in his hat of feathers. Boochi is joining the rest of his recent abysmal flops which never had been on screen for more than a few days. Sandeep Chowta has tried hard enough to scare you with the sounds though the video failed you completely. Poor editing from Sunil Wadhwani.

Performance :

All actors were good for what the roles they have been given but the inarticulate plot is a black hole for any good remark. Manisha Koirala had tried her best to be the scared wife but she overdoes it quite early in the movie. J.D Chakravarthy is a veteran at his roles like these and he does nothing short of it. Alayana Sharma and Madhu Shalini are good with their roles.

Final Word: Boochi 3D Review RGV would have had more respect if he decided to stop it at Bhoot and not let it “return”. A movie not worth your time unless you are desperate to know why this is such a huge failure. (AW-Anil)
