After a very long hiatus Venkatesh is back on the big screen. Victory Venkatesh movies have always been great entertainers though they failed to garner huge collections. While some movies were big movies with lot of fan following, some movies were not so fortuitous earning only a meager following though not failing to entertain. Shadow however, has garnered so much of attention with the new look, lots of promotion but ultimately did the movie do justice to the hype generated? Read through Shadow Movie Review

Story

A decent blend of all elements like romance, action, comedy and sentiment just as we expected from the movie, Shadow does a decent job. His entry begins with the punchy dialogue, 'Nenu evaru anedhi mystery, nanu catch cheyalante history, meeru chudaboyedhi naa victory'.
Raja Ram, Venkatesh, is the son of Raghu Ram, Naga Babu who is an investigation journalist working under the secret project Shadow. Raghu Ram's, dedication and determination to collect evidence of the misdeeds of Don Nana Bhai, Aditya Pancholi, prove to be successful after they find crucial details related to him.
Don Nana Bhai is the criminal mind behind several bomb blasts in India. He learns of Raghu Ram and his family. Seeking revenge, he exterminates all of them but magically Raja Ram is survives the beastly attack and plots the fall of Nana Bhai continuing his father's quest. The rest of the story shows how he avenges the death of his father.

Analysis :

Shadow-review Movies should have all elements doesn't mean you have to force them into the movie any how. Shadow fails at noting the quantity that is required in the ingredients and merely dumped all of them into the blender.
Music is average. Costumes of Venkatesh are a let down. Though his getup was great in the audience when he attended matches of IPL 6, it doesn't appeal as much on screen. Abysmal editing, it could be the work of a dilettante at best. Screenplay of Shadow is the only interesting part. The script fails after it was hyped up so much. Kona Venkat and Gopi Mohan probably didn't receive their royalties when they wrote the script. Meher Ramesh was extremely bad in Shakti and has not improved a bit for this movie. Producers should have invested in a better movie than this.

Performance :

Shadow-review Venkatesh's performance was excellent as always. His refined looks make him younger than his appearance in SVSC. Different shades in his role were expertly dealt with by the star. Taapsee enthralls with skin show. Her action however needs a lot of improvement though. With the short screen time most of her flaws can be overlooked. Aditya Pancholi's debut in Tollywood is impressive and but we think he can do a lot better in the negative shades in the future. Naga Babu's role is nothing special but good nevertheless.

Venkatesh's attempt at comedy fails this time due to poor timings and lack of support at the right time from MS Narayana's monotonous efforts.

Final Word: Shadow Movie Review My two cents, do yourself a favor and watch some other flick!
