Puri Jagannadh's Devudu Chesina Manushulu was released on independence day. The much hyped movie of Puri Jagannadh supposedly bombed at the box office as the movie didn't live up to the expectations of the audience. There was nothing special in the movie and Puri seemed to have not paid enough attention while sketching the characters. Story

The story revolves around two orphans—Ravi Teja and Ileana—created by Lord Vishnu (played by Brahmanandam. The story opens with Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi (Kovaisarala). Brahmanandam promises Kovai that he would show her an entertaining story and that's where the story begins (although it's not strong). Ileana will be a cab driver in Thailand while Ravi Teja will play a mediator. In a cinematic way, the couple happens to meet each other and falls in love.

Analysis :

There are many draw backs of the film. Although people don't care for logic, Puri should have not brought in Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi into the picture. Brahmanandam and Kovaisarala looked terrible as Vishnu and Lakshmi. Even on a comedy note, they really didn't fit into the role. The music of Devudu Chesina Manushulu was just okay. People were confused as to why a song came all of a sudden. Abrupt songs rubs salt into the wounds of the viewers. The background score of Raghu Kunche was not appealing. On the technical front, cinematography was not good. It could have been much, much better.
The script of DCM is weak and so is the screenplay. Although this movie was a love story, there was no proper attention paid by the director towards the love scenes. There were no punch dialogues too in DCM. The second half of the movie is certainly a set back. Right from cinematographer to costumes to script, no thumbs down to DCM.

Performance :

Ravi Teja gave his best. Ileana was okay too but emphasis was more on exposing than acting. Prakash Raj was again just ok. Ali's acting was outstanding. Brahmanandam and Kovaisarala were not okay. Since script itself was weak and so was the story, there was in fact, no scope for performance anyway.

Final Word: Devudu Chesina Manushulu Entertainment lost in narration.

Ravi Teja-Tapsee starrer Daruvu movie has hit the theatres across the state on May 25. The socio-fantasy film went on just ok as this kind of subject was not new to Telugu audience. Daruvu is not a hit. An average film that would make people think they didn’t waste money by watching this film given the comedy scenes in the movie tickle the ribs to the core. Story

Directed by Siva, Daruvu revolves around Bullet Raja (Ravi Teja) and Yama (the Hindu Lord who’s head of hell). Old Yama (played by Satyanarayana) wants to make his son (Prabhu) the head of Yamalokam (hell). But the old Chitragupta (MS Narayana) doesn’t like the new king and wishes to take action against him. As a part of the same, he chooses to kill a person with 100 years of life span and that person happens to be Bullet Raja. Bullet Raja will get to know that he has 100 years of life and torments the new Yama with his words forcing the new Yama send Bullet Raja into the body of a home minister Rajendra (who looks like Ravi Teja). What will Bullet Raja do later is the twist in the film. Many films have earlier come on similar subjects.

Analysis :

The movie was said to be a good entertainer. Except for heroine Tapsee and songs, everything was good about the film. The cinematography was said to be okay. The sets of Yamalokam looked good. These sets were specially designed at Ramoji Film City. The songs in the movie were not good.

Performance :

Ravi Teja’s acting was exceptional. Tapsee was wasted in the film. Not to forget Brahmanandam who made people laugh out their lungs.

Final Word Daruvu review is mass masala entertainer.
